Play indoors and outdoors at the Museum 

From March 3 to 11, 2018, the Museum offers you a program of family and fun activities. Like what winter on St. Helen's Island is synonymous with pleasure!

The Stewart Museum will open every day of the week including March 5 and 6

All activities are included in the museum entrance fee. No reservation is required.
The Old-fashionned curling is cancel for the Spring break due to the climate. 

*Please note that the snowshoe activity can be replaced by an outdoor walking tour or a story hour.

PERMANENT EXHIBITION HISTORY AND MEMORY


Visit the permanent exhibition History and Memory including the interactive model of Montreal and a period costume trunk.

THEMED VIGNETTES CHAPTERS OF OUR HISTORY


10:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. (Bilingual, 20 minutes) 

In the exhibition History and Memorya guide of the Museum animates short thematic capsules to make you discover one of the key periods of our history. For each capsule, an area of the permanent exhibition History and Memory is explored in depth, through a selection of exceptional artefacts or archives, which will revive realities of the past.

March 3 and 9: The St. Lawrence Iroquoians 
March 4 and 10: Cartography and major explorations 
March 5  and 11: Coureurs des bois
March 6: Model of the fortified city of Montreal 
March 7: Naval battles of the 18th century 
March 8: Loyalists and Patriots




Hall of Games


Among the 13 old games, find some still popular today (such as cup and ball, dominoes or naval battle) and others less known (such as junk or barrel game). They will put your skills and those of your family members to the test!

Every day during the school break, participate in a set of ring workshop led by a museum guide.

SNOWSHOEING AT THE FORT ON ST. HELEN’S ISLAND


1:30 p.m.

Go for a nice snowshoe ride on the trails of St. Helen's Island. Accompanied by a guide-interpreter from the Stewart Museum, discover the remnants of military buildings on the island and climb Mont-Boullé to the imposing Tower of Lévis with breathtaking views of the river and Montreal.

Bilingual activity. All equipment provided. Players must be 7 years of age and older and be warmly dressed. Maximum 15 adults and 15 kids.
