Come and play at the Museum!The Stewart Museum will b open every day of the week including March 5 and 6.
From March 3 to 11, 2018, the Museum offers you a program of family and fun activities, both in the fresh air and inside. Like what winter on St. Helen's Island is synonymous with pleasure!
DAILY ACTIVITY SCHEDULE
- VISIT EXHIBITION HISTORY AND MEMORY
- THEMED VIGNETTE CHAPTERS OF OUR HISTORY12 h 30 p.m. and 4 p.m. (Bilingual, 20 minutes)
FOR CHILDRENSelf-guided tours with booklets about animals for children ages 4 to 6 and clothing for children ages 7 to 10. In the exhibition History and Memory, a guide of the Museum animates short thematic capsules to make you discover one of the key periods of our history. For each capsule, an area of the permanent exhibition History and Memory is explored in depth, through a selection of exceptional artefacts or archives, which will revive realities of the past.
- HALL OF GAMES
At all time
Among the 13 old games, find some still popular today (such as cup and ball, dominoes or naval battle) and others less known (such as junk or barrel game). They will put your skills and those of your family members to the test!
Every day during the school break, participate in a set of ring workshop led by a museum guide.
- OLD-FASHIONED CURLING
11 h (bilingual, 60 minutes)
Come at Stewart Museum to play old-fashioned curling on natural ice, the way the game was enjoyed by Scottish immigrants in the 18th century. Learn how to play one of the oldest sports in Quebec!
Bilingual activity. All equipment provided. Players must be 6 years of age and older and be warmly dressed.
- SNOWSHOEING AT THE FORT ON ST. HELEN’S ISLAND
Go for a nice snowshoe ride on the trails of St. Helen's Island. Accompanied by a guide-interpreter from the Stewart Museum, discover the remnants of military buildings on the island and climb Mont-Boullé to the imposing Tower of Lévis with breathtaking views of the river and Montreal.
Bilingual activity. All equipment provided. Players must be 7 years of age and older and be warmly dressed.
