Founded in 1955 by Montreal’s businessman and philanthropist David Macdonald Stewart, the Stewart Museum is a private history museum located in St. Helen’s Island outstanding heritage site, in parc Jean-Drapeau.

Through its rich collections including remarkable documents such as old maps and various archival documents and scientific instruments, rare books and weapons, the Stewart Museum recalls the great figures, events and life themes daily from our history. These precious objects testify to the influence of European civilization on the history of New France and North America.
